Mason Lake Public Boat Launch

Mason Lake is a beautiful lake to explore. With no quiet times, you can have all the fun of being on the lake on your boat, or our kayaks or SUP board, and then come back to a quiet retreat in the woods.

Only 20 minutes from the Alderbrook resort, you can enjoy dining, golfing, hiking, the spa, and year-round phenomenal views of the Olympic Mountains.

Also, just about a 20-minute drive from Belfair and Shelton if you want to go for pizza or enjoy some shopping.

Twahno State Park is about 15 minutes drive and has public access boat launches into the Hood Canal, a beach, and more hiking

Big Creek Upper Loop Trail

Belfair is about a 20-minute drive and has two grocery stores, many coffee huts and gas stations, fast-food, bars, and the North Mason Chamber of Commerce

Shelton is about a 25-minute drive and has a Walmart, fast food, gas stations, bars, antique stores, and the Shelton-Mason County Chamber of Commerce.

Hoodsport is about a 35-minute drive and has a couple of eateries and wineries, a distillery, and water access to the Hood Canal. If you drive another 30 minutes to the Olympic National Park Staircase Ranger station, there are many beautiful trails to explore.

One of our favorite spots is Union and the Union City Market. You can purchase gifts here. There is coffee and a small bakery as well. The outdoor restaurant Hook and Fork is right on the water and a delight to visit year-round!
